Cheeky dance moves

One of my not so guilty pleasures is watching songs from Indian movies of the 60's and 70's. They're the perfect amount of cheesiness, cheekiness and romance. The boys and the girls never kiss, the dance moves are ridiculous and the fashion is so so good! Dhadkan Har Dil Ki is a perfect example and the good news is there's an abundance floating around on YouTube.

By candle light

Earth hour was this weekend and at the last minute my flatmates and I decided to pull out the candles and participate. Traipsing around the house with only a candle to light my way made me feel very 'ye olde world' and by golly my flatmates looked all the sexier in the soft subtle lighting. My dear friend donned the seediest velvet shirt I have ever laid my eyes upon, chosen especially for our romantic candle light foray as we sat around drinking wine, talking and listening to music.

Nostalgia

When I woke up this morning I couldn't help but feel a touch of nostlagia for India. I wanted hot wet heat, bright fabrics and the combined smell of sandalwood, pollution and coconut oil. I missed temples, swims in the river at 7am and the simultaneous sounds of horns tooting, crows overhead and market hecklers.
