Umep

I purchased a booked called Umep in the weekend which is the loveliest collections of photographs I have seen in a long time. Candid, hilarious and intimate they capture the offbeat side of Japan to a tee.

Back from holiday

I'm back. Osaka, Tokyo and Kobe were amazing. We made our own savoury seafood pancakes, hired mamacharis, stared at Harajuku girls, visited temples, bargained at the markets, went hiking and drank and ate too much. I have three rolls of film in my handbag that I'm dropping off tonight. Anticipation!

A funny eye

My Funny Eye, always such a refreshing charming perspective!

sun, sand, sunscreen and sangria

The northern summer is sadly starting to fade, but luckily I have this song to remind me of the sun, the smell of sunscreen, the sand and the sangria.

Knope!

Any overwhelming moments of 'holy crap I'm in Japan and everything is so intense' can quickly be diffused by an episode of Parks and Recreation. I love leading lady Leslie Knope. I wish she was my friend. Her neurotic sunny disposition is both charming and irksome (no easy feat.) On any given day she falls into giant dirt pits, gets drunk and pashes the water cooler delivery guy, does accent impersonations or renditions of 'poker face' or mistakes marijuana for carrot tops. She is a.m.a.z.i.n.g
Let Knope in your life.
